The American Rescue Association® (AMRA) operates as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, driven by a dedicated group of volunteers who are deeply committed to the protection, rescue, and care of abandoned and neglected Morkshire Terriers, as well as other at-risk small breeds across the nation. Our mission is to find loving homes for these animals while promoting awareness regarding humane treatment practices. Through our efforts, we strive to create a compassionate environment for all animals in need.

Our devoted team works diligently to provide both physical and emotional support to these animals while they are in foster care throughout the country. We focus on delivering necessary medical care, behavioral rehabilitation, and ultimately, the placement of these animals into nurturing forever homes. Our commitment to improving the lives of these vulnerable creatures is unwavering, and we take pride in the positive changes we facilitate for them.

AMRA has created a Wish List for donations. Contributions can be dropped off at our donation box in the Pet Source store on 1927 Spartanburg Hwy, Hendersonville, North Carolina. Alternatively, essential items can be purchased and sent to the American Rescue Association at PO Box 473, Burnsville, NC 28714.

Microchipping your pets significantly increases their chances of being reunited with you, tripling the likelihood if they find themselves in a rescue or shelter. Despite these encouraging statistics, around 10 million pets go missing annually, leading to overcrowded shelters and declining adoption rates. To combat this crisis, we have teamed up with AKC to facilitate joyful reunions daily, and when clinics are closed, we step in as an AKC Good Samaritan to help lower intake numbers. We provide AKC Reunite Microchipping and Check the Chip Services. Reach out to us today!
