The American Morkshire Terrier Club (AMTC) is an international body committed to building relationships, celebrating excellence, and upholding pedigree standards. Founded in 2015, it functions as the sole companion-dog registry for the Morkshire Terrier breed across the globe, encompassing registrations from all 50 states and various countries. Embracing the distinctive Total Dog philosophy, the AMTC emphasizes the inherent instincts and vibrant heritage of Morkshire Terriers, recognized for their exceptional companionship.

History

The inception of the American Morkshire Terrier Club, Inc. (AMTC) can be traced back to A.M. Robbins and four other passionate individuals who shared a common goal: to protect and promote the legacy of the American Morkshire Terrier, commonly known as the Morkshire Terrier or "AMT." The club became the first U.S. Morkshire Terrier Club: the Morkshire Terrier Registry, MTR, known today as American Morkshire Terrier Club, Inc., or AMTC. AMTC was founded with the intention of establishing a club with a trustworthy registration system and comprehensive database that accurately records, preserves, and enhances this distinctive and unique breed. Initially operating from a modest office in Hendersonville, North Carolina, the Club later transitioned to a dedicated facility in the mountains of Burnsville, symbolizing its growth and steadfast commitment to the preservation of the breed.
